General Terms and Conditions (GTC) of Storytime KLG

  1. Scope of Application
    1. These General Terms and Conditions (GTC) govern the contractual relationship between Storytime KLG, a general partnership based in Bern (hereinafter “Storytime”), and its clients (hereinafter “Participants”).
    2. The GTC apply to all services offered by Storytime, in particular the organization and execution of pen-and-paper role-playing games for corporate teams and private individuals.
    3. By booking an event, participants agree to these GTC.
  2. Description of Services
    1. Storytime offers the planning, organization, and execution of role-playing events. These are led by experienced game masters (“GMs”).
    2. Specific services, prices, and event durations are agreed upon individually and outlined in the respective booking confirmation.
    3. Storytime reserves the right to adjust the content and structure of the games at its sole discretion.
  3. Booking and Conclusion of Contract
    1. Bookings are made via the form on Storytime’s website.
    2. The contract is concluded upon confirmation of the booking by Storytime.
    3. Participants are obliged to provide all relevant information (e.g., number of participants, preferred setting, special needs) fully and truthfully.
  4. Prices and Payment
    1. All prices are in Swiss Francs (CHF). The prices valid at the time of contract conclusion, as published on Storytime’s website, apply.
    2. Payment is due upon receipt of the invoice and can be made via bank transfer.
  5. Cancellation and Rebooking Policy
    1. Cancellations must be made in writing or by email. The following charges apply:
      • Between twenty and ten business days before the event: 20% of the total price
      • Between ten and five business days before the event: 50% of the total price
      • Less than five business days before the event: 100% of the total price
    2. Rebooking is free of charge up to ten business days before the event. After that, a fee of 20% of the total price applies.
    3. If rebooking is not possible, the booking is considered canceled, and the applicable cancellation fees apply. The time the rebooking process is initiated is used to determine the cancellation charges.
    4. If Storytime is unable to conduct the event due to unforeseen circumstances, participants will be offered a rebooking or a replacement game master. If neither is possible, the full amount will be refunded.
  6. Participation Conditions
    1. Participation is at the participant’s own risk. Storytime is not liable for damages caused by improper behavior of participants.
    2. Storytime’s game masters have the right to deny or exclude participants from the game before or during the session if:
      • Instructions from the game master are not followed;
      • Furniture is damaged or stolen;
      • A participant’s behavior harasses other participants or the game master;
      • Payment for the event has not been made in full before the start of the session;
      • Public order is disturbed or moral standards are violated;
      • Other Swiss legal provisions relevant to the proper conduct of the event are violated.
    3. Participants are liable for any damage to materials and equipment provided that is caused by them.
  7. Disclaimer of Liability
    1. Storytime is only liable for damages caused intentionally or by gross negligence.
    2. Any liability for indirect damages, consequential damages, or loss of profit is excluded.
    3. If the event cannot take place due to force majeure (e.g., natural disasters, pandemics, official orders), there is no entitlement to compensation.
  8. Data Protection
    1. Storytime processes participants’ personal data solely for contract execution and in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
    2. No data will be shared with third parties without the participant’s explicit consent.
  9. Jurisdiction and Applicable Law
    1. These GTC are governed by Swiss law.
    2. The place of jurisdiction is the registered office of Storytime KLG.
  10. Final Provisions
    1. If individual provisions of these GTC are found to be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.
    2. Storytime reserves the right to amend these GTC at any time. The GTC valid at the time of booking shall apply.
